Diamond Joins Lawmakers Asking Pence to Consider Election Irregularities in Pennsylvania, Reject Pennsylvania’s Electors
HARRISBURG - Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon), recently appointed by House Speaker Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) to the Pennsylvania Election Law Advisory Board and a member of the House State Government Committee,
signed onto a letter to Vice President Michael R. Pence asking him to consider the alarming amount of election irregularities and fraudulent activity in the 2020 General Election in Pennsylvania in advance of the qualification of electors and tabulation of Electoral College votes by Congress.
Diamond and 31 other members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly are asking Pence to consider that the validity of Pennsylvania’s electors is in question due to such irregularities, which have caused a considerable portion of their constituents to be concerned with the legitimacy of the results of the 2020 presidential election and the security of future elections.
The lawmakers noted the severity of the consequences of the actions taken by Pennsylvania’s executive and judicial branches of the Commonwealth’s government, declaring that constitutional violations took place and their role as the Legislature was effectively voided. In conclusion, the lawmakers ask that Pence rejects the Electoral College votes received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania when he presides over the Electoral College count during the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021.
The letter states in part: “The Pennsylvania Election Code was contravened, frustrated, and undermined by the actions of officials in the executive and judicial branches of the Commonwealth, as well as certain local election officials.”
It further lists six specific instances of the Pennsylvania Election Code being ignored and the state Constitution being violated by the executive and judicial branches. As a result of these actions, local governments and election officials also ignored and violated the law and were never reprimanded or corrected.
In addition,
the letter lists almost two dozen actions taken by state lawmakers in an attempt to assert their legislative and legal authority to address the grievances of Pennsylvania’s voters and correct the constitutional violations made by numerous state and local government officials.
Should Pennsylvania’s electors be rejected, the lawmakers state that they are prepared to appoint electors for president and vice president if called upon to do so.
