Monthly Office Hours at Myerstown Library Start Feb. 1

Working to ensure convenience and accessibility to state services across the district, I am now holding satellite office hours at the Myerstown Library on the first Thursday of each month, starting Thursday, Feb. 1. The office hours are from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Among the services available at the satellite office, as well as the full-time office in Lebanon, are:

• Driver’s license and vehicle registration applications and renewals.
• Assistance with PennDOT paperwork (lost cards, changes, corrections, special registration plates, vanity plates and temporary placards for persons with physical disabilities).
• Information and applications for senior citizen benefit programs, including Property Tax/Rent Rebate and PACE/PACENET prescription drug programs.
• Information and applications for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
• Help with securing birth and death certificates (photo identification required).
• Information about legislation.
• Assistance with resolving matters relating to state agencies, such as Veterans Affairs, Human Services, Labor and Industry, Insurance, Environmental Protection or Conservation and Natural Resources.

I am grateful to Myerstown Library for giving us the opportunity to provide this service on the eastern end of the district.

As always, you are welcome to contact my full-time district office, located at 2230 Lebanon Valley Mall, for assistance with any state-related matters. The office may also be reached by calling 717-277-2101 or by visiting RepDiamond.com.

Loan to Help Develop Lebanon County Farm

Earlier this week, the Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation was awarded a $400,000 loan from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) First Industries loan program.

The loan will help contracted poultry growers, Matthew and Katrina Martin, with the construction of three 31,500-square-foot broiler houses on their 73-acre farm. The Martins are contract poultry growers for Hain Pure Protein.

The First Industries Fund (FIF) is a program aimed at strengthening Pennsylvania’s agriculture and tourism industries through loan guarantees. The program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) under the direction of the CFA.

I applaud the Lebanon Valley Economic Development Corporation for its continued effort to strengthen Lebanon County’s robust agriculture industry. The total cost of this project is estimated at $1.2 million, with the Martins having obtained an $810,000 private bank loan to help fund the construction.
