HARRISBURG – State Representative Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) has been reappointed as a designated member of the Joint State Government Commission’s Election Law Advisory Board by House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler.

Diamond had previously served on the board since its inception as the designee of Cutler when he was Speaker of the House.

“I’m pleased and honored that Leader Cutler has recognized my previous work on this important board, and I look forward to continuing that service during the 2023-24 legislative session,” Diamond said. “This board serves as a great way to interact and have open and honest discussions surrounding election issues with those who actually administer Pennsylvania’s elections in a non-legislative setting.”

The Election Law Advisory Board was established by Act 12 of 2020, which directed that the Board be staffed by the Joint State Government Commission. Act 12 also requires that the Board publish its findings on the Joint State Government Commission's website at the end of each fiscal year.

The Election Law Advisory Board is comprised of a bipartisan group of legislative leaders or their designees, and a bipartisan slate of appointees of the Governor representing groups advocating for individuals with disabilities and voting rights, as well as county commissioners or county election officials. The Governor’s appointees must be confirmed by the state Senate.

The Election Law Advisory Board’s annual reports and meetings can be found on the Joint State government Commission’s website here.
