Lebanon Co. Farmland Preserved for the Future, Diamond Says

February 12, 2026

HARRISBURG – Three more farms in Lebanon County have been accepted into the state’s farmland preservation program, ensuring the land remains used for agriculture in perpetuity, according to Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon).

The newly accepted farms are:
   • Kirby and Sheryl Horst’s 111-acre poultry farm in Millcreek Township
   • John and Ricki Light’s 151-acre poultry farm in Swatara Township
   • Steve and Kendra Musser’s 70-acre crop farm in North Annville Township

“What wonderful news to learn that three more properties will be preserved to ensure strong agricultural production in the coming years,” Diamond said. “I commend the families for taking this important step.”

The Lebanon County contribution represented three of 25 farms preserved this week across Pennsylvania. Established in the late 1980s, the preservation program uses easements to prohibit commercial or residential development on prime farmland.
