Diamond Announces Close to $1 Million CFA Grant for Modern Heating Infrastructure in Eastern Lebanon County
9/17/2019
HARRISBURG – Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) announced today that the Eastern Lebanon County School Campus located in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, will receive a grant of $980,666 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority Pipeline Investment Program.

“This is an incredible investment that will reduce emissions, help maintain low taxes for the local community, and keep our schools warm in the coming winter,” said Diamond. “It’s a well-known fact that pipelines are the safest mode of distribution for natural gas and I applaud the CFA for helping Lebanon County update its infrastructure.”

The Eastern Lebanon County School Campus consists of a 180,000-square-foot high school and a 137,400-square-foot middle school and is currently heated by propane and oil-fired boilers. The pipeline will start around Route 501, run south in between Weavertown Road and Miller Road, and end at Eastern Lebanon County School District.

The extension will be 11,000 feet of main line and will be constructed by UGI. Upon completion, the project will provide service to seven additional small businesses and several properties in the area.

Total project cost is $1.96 million. East Lebanon County will contribute $980,666 in matching funds.
